Review : Design Flaw Not Covered Under Warranty
We purchased the Whirlpool G7CG3064XS for a Vacation rental. It seemed to be a nice middle of the road cook top with features we liked (grills that you can slide pots around on, recessed burners, elevated control knobs). Where the cooktop works nicely, however, there is a design flaw. There are little plastic "feet" the grills sits on and those feet melt, deteriorate, fall off...whatever you want to say, they don't stay on and then the grills scratch the nice stainless steel. Because this is a vacation rental, and we don't live there everyday, this cooktop gets very minimal use. The problem showed up in the first 3 months. And you guessed it. Because it is considered "cosmetic" they only cover that the first 30 days. It is my belief as a consumer that this is a design flaw that the feet do not stay on, a "functional" problem (covered under warranty) that then causes a cosmetic one (not covered under warranty).
